Occupations...

When I was young, I liked to take things apart. It didn't matter if I could put them back together.

I also wanted to fly. Remember, a modern commercial airliner of the time was the Douglas DC-3 and the Piper J-3 Cub was popular for private aviators. There were no commercial jetliners. Man had not yet gone into space. As a matter of fact, I was in class at grade school when I heard that Russia had launched Sputnik.

Anyway, I couldn't afford to fly, so I studied aeronautical engineering. After college, I began working at a structural engineering firm and liked the work.

Holiday Inn, Fargo, North Dakota

36-Unit Apartment Building, Fargo, North Dakota

Two buildings on which I was involved with the structural design.

One of the projects involved a major structural restoration of an old building that I did using polymers in concrete. I was hooked! My vocation since then has always directly involved the use of polymers in concrete. Follow the links for the rest of the story.

While I was doing all these things, Jan was raising our family. She devoted full time to that for over twenty years. Now, with the family nearly all grown, she has developed a new vocation in crafts and quilting. Jan and Jessy have worked together and have had displays at many local craft shows. Jan also teaches sewing and quilting, most notably to one group of elderly ladies who are essentially blind!

A lot of money is tainted.  Taint yours and taint mine.
